Here Are Monday’s Top Wall Street Analyst Research Calls: Ameriprise Financial, Boyd Gaming, CoreWeave, Datadog, Intel, JetBlue Airways, PayPal Holdings, Pinterest, Whirlpool, and More

• Nasdaq led a broad Friday selloff on hot inflation data, rising energy prices, and an AI stock rotation. • Oil jumped as Iran attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz disrupted shipping; gold and bonds held firm. • Monday's analyst calls split sharply: CoreWeave, Datadog, Intel upgraded; Ameriprise, PayPal, Whirlpool downgraded. Stocks traded mixed Monday, with the Nasdaq rebounding sharply as third-quarter earnings season ramps up. Friday was ugly across the board: the Nasdaq fell 2.15% to 26,140 (its worst week since June), the Russell 2000 dropped 1.66% to 2,721, the S&P 500 slid 1.09% to 7,659 (also its worst week since June), and the Dow held up best, down 0.34% to 52,002. Blame rising energy prices, a hotter-than-expected CPI/PPI, and a rotation out of AI tech names. Treasuries rallied again Monday, pushing yields lower after one of the biggest bond rallies in years last week. The 30-year closed Friday at 5.43% and the 10-year at 5.08%. Oil surged as Iran launched missile and drone strikes on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, cutting daily flows through the chokepoint from 17.15 million to 11.62 million barrels and sending shipping and insurance costs soaring. Brent closed at $109.90 (+3.72%) and WTI at $101.40 (+3.51%), while natural gas fell 3.71% to $3.12. Gold was flat at $4,164 (-0.12%) and silver dipped 0.43% to $57.12 as investors awaited more clarity on geopolitical risks. Crypto saw a split market: Bitcoin rose about 1.7% to $82,162 even as the broader market cap fell 2.16%, with altcoins like Bitcoin Cash dropping over 6%. Bitcoin and Ethereum were later quoted at $82,091 and $2,402, respectively. Monday's analyst moves: Upgrades went to Boyd Gaming (Overweight, Morgan Stanley, target cut to $83), CoreWeave (Buy, Goldman Sachs, $106 target), Datadog (Outperform, Bernstein, target raised to $350), Intel (Neutral, JPMorgan, $85 target), and JetBlue (Neutral, UBS, $3.50 target). Downgrades hit Ameriprise Financial (double-downgraded to Underperform, Bank of America, target cut to $445), LCI Industries (Hold, Stifel, $80 target), Newmark Group (Neutral, Piper Sandler, $13 target), PayPal (Underperform, Cleveland Research), and Whirlpool (Neutral, Longbow). New coverage initiated on Azul (Neutral, Goldman Sachs, $8.10 target), Maze Therapeutics (Buy, Canaccord, $75 target), Pinterest (Buy, Phillip Securities, $30 target), Resideo Technologies (Outperform, Citizens, $22 target), and Rush Street Interactive (Equal Weight, Morgan Stanley, $22 target).
