TTM Technologies shares rose 4.2% after the company announced a definitive agreement to acquire MKS Inc.'s Ophir Optics business for approximately $650 million in cash. Ophir Optics, with manufacturing in Israel and Romania, makes high-precision infrared thermal imaging and laser optics for defense, security, and industrial customers, deepening TTM's aerospace and defense exposure alongside its mission systems, RF components, and PCB portfolio. The deal is expected to close in Q2 2027 pending regulatory approval and to be immediately accretive to adjusted EBITDA margin and non-GAAP diluted EPS. CEO Edwin Roks called it "another important step" in TTM's growth strategy. Funding will come from cash on hand, future cash flow, and TTM's revolving credit facility — the same sources earmarked for a previously announced $400 million Asia capacity expansion. The move came amid a broader tech rally (Nasdaq +0.9%, S&P 500 +0.4%), with investors also watching TTM's Q3 2026 earnings call set for October 22.
